Project Description

Our volunteer team carried out a cleaning initiative for Arwad Fortress and the road leading to it, aiming to contribute to preserving the island’s cultural and historical value and to improving overall cleanliness. This enhances the visitor experience and supports national efforts to protect archaeological sites.
The initiative was implemented in direct cooperation with the Tartous Governorate Council and the Ministry of Culture to ensure that the work met approved environmental and heritage preservation standards.
Achievements

Cleaning the historic core of the fortress and removing accumulated waste and debris.
Cleaning the main road leading to the fortress and facilitating visitor access.
Raising awareness among volunteers and island residents about the importance of preserving heritage.
Supporting coordination between official authorities and civil society to protect archaeological sites.
